- At A&U: America's AIDS Magazine, Chip published several interviews with celebrities, including Keri Hilson, Olivia Culpo, and Kenneth Cole. When he told the designer and philanthropist how much he admired him, Cole said he admired the work Chip and his colleagues were doing.
- Chip is a nationally-renowned expert on storytelling and media coverage of sensitive issues. He's delivered workshops at the Wistar Institute on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, and at the national convention of the Association of LGBTQ Journalists, alongside New York Times Magazine writer Linda Villarosa.
- Starting out as a TV writer and producer, Chip received 10 Addy Awards from the American Advertising Federation for writing and creative direction. A champion for LGBTQ+ equality, he's profiled queer celebs Niecy Nash, Alan Cumming, Meredith Baxter, and Alex Newell, among others.
Experience
With more than 20 years of experience writing feature stories, Chip joined Nicki Swift as a feature writer in 2022. He's had bylines in Louisville's G3 Illustrated, Philadelphia Weekly, South Florida Gay News, and Out in Jersey. He is also a published songwriter whose work has been performed at the GALA international choral festival.
Education
Chip has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts from San Francisco State University, where he cut his teeth working on the university's TV newscast.
