Celeb Kids Who Seriously Disgraced Their Parents

This one is a biggie, and not just because The Matrix's Laurence Fishburne is such a huge celebrity, but because his daughter, Montana Fishburne's, rebellion wasn't the usual rich kid Hollywood Boulevard DUI. In 2010, she did a straight-up adult video in an apparent attempt — in her own words — to jumpstart her career à la Kim Kardashian.

But it didn't exactly work out. According to Fox News, a regretful Montana cautioned other women against the adult film industry, saying she didn't get the money she was offered or the fame that she was after. "I don't encourage people to go into the porn industry," she said. "You may end up having a really sucky life." 

Laurence's friends even tried unsuccessfully to block the release of the video, hiring a lawyer to offer distributor Vivid Entertainment $1 million for all the copies, but the videos had already been "shipped out," according to TMZ. As if doing the nasty on camera wasn't enough of public a slap in Morpheus' face, Montana doubled-down that year by allegedly assaulting her boyfriend's ex, all of which reportedly resulted in Laurence shunning her from his life. 

As of this writing, we're not sure if these two have reconciled, but in 2017, Montana not only got busted for DUI but also reportedly urinated right in front of the cop during her arrest — which was all caught on dashcam. Something tells us Laurence didn't love that, either.

Billionaire Warren Buffett's thoughts regarding his wealth are well-known. He famously still lives in the Omaha, Neb. house that he purchased in 1958, drives modest cars, and has pledged to give away 99 percent of his fortune to philanthropic causes. No one feels the pinch of Buffett's fiscally conservative philosophy more than his heirs.

According to a Marie Claire interview with Nicole Buffett, Warren's son, Peter's, adopted daughter, the mega-rich investor agreed only to pay for his grandchildren's education expenses "and nothing more." So when Nicole appeared in the documentary, The One Percent, and spoke candidly about her relative disconnection with her grandfather's fortune, it did not go over well. Even though she didn't reveal anything the public didn't already know, grandpa Warren wasn't pleased. According to Marie Claire, he wrote Nicole a letter that said, "I have not emotionally or legally adopted you as a grandchild, nor have the rest of my family adopted you as a niece or a cousin." He also allegedly told Peter that "he'd renounce [Nicole]."

Wow, that bridge is not burned — it's obliterated. Nicole claimed to have "no regrets" about the situation but also threw in a sly dig at Warren, claiming he's begun mailing huge Christmas checks to the other grandkids because "probably he's rewarding them for behaving." In other words: she totally learned the lesson of not blabbing to the press about what Warren Buffett's doing with his money.

Of all of actor Ryan O'Neal's children, you'd think Redmond (his son with the late Farrah Fawcett) would be the black sheep, considering he's been in and out of jail and rehab for years. Redmond's half-sister, Tatum O'Neal, a former addict herself, has also publicly aired her share of grievances about her tumultuous upbringing in her autobiography, A Paper Life. But it was Griffin, Ryan's son from his first marriage, who has had the harshest words for his father. 

After a violent confrontation between Griffin and Ryan, Griffin appeared on Larry King with what was apparently a singular goal: trash the ever-living crap out of his dad. Among the long list of allegations, Griffin claims Ryan tried to shoot him in the face, attacked both him and his pregnant wife with a fireplace poker, repeatedly cheated on all of his wives, and not only enabled Redmond's drug use, but partook in it with him. 

Griffin is no angel. He's dealt with drug and assault charges, not to mention the infamous 1986 boating accident he was involved in that resulted in the death of Francis Ford Coppola's son, Gian. Griffin was found not guilty of manslaughter, but convicted for negligence in the wake of the accident, reported The Washington Post.

For his part, Ryan admits he wasn't the ideal father, telling Vanity Fair that he used drugs throughout his children's upbringing. He called another of his sons, Patrick, "not likable" and confirmed that he was "sorry he had children." So, as far as his kids disgracing him in the public eye? Ryan O'Neal handles that all on his own just fine.

WWE wrestling champ Hulk Hogan's son, Nick Hogan, made headlines when he was reportedly found responsible for a horrific DUI accident that left his friend, John Graziano, with "injuries that will require 24-hour-a-day care for the rest of his life," according to the Daily Mail. Hogan reportedly had been drag-racing another friend when he lost control of his car and hit a tree. Graziano was a passenger in Nick's car.

Hulk said his son's crime, along with the wrestler's high-profile divorce, drove him into a deep depression. In his autobiography (via People), Hulk says he began to abuse pain pills and even contemplated suicide. "I could feel the life draining out of me," Hulk said. "It had me curling my index finger on the trigger of a loaded handgun and putting it in my mouth." 

Fortunately, the Hulkster found his way through to better times, despite becoming embroiled in sex tape and racial slur scandals that fueled a protracted legal battle that led to the demise of Gawker Media. Something tells us the $31 million settlement Hulk was awarded may lift his spirits. 

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have two sons, but only one of them is a rapper who goes by the name Chet Haze (aka Chet Hanx). In reality, he's Chester Marlon Hanks, son of one of the most recognizable celebrities in the world, and yet, that hasn't stopped him from doing the following: threatening Howard Stern with physical violence; dropping n-bombs repeatedly on Instagram; getting his parents sued for a car accident he allegedly caused; getting addicted to cocaine and going to rehab. According to Chet, that last one was the reason for all of the other stuff, which he revealed in a series of Instagram videos after completing his stint in treatment.

In pure Tom Hanks fashion, he approached his black-sheep son with the same gregarious nature with which he's built his entire career. He told Entertainment Tonight, "As a parent, you love your kids unconditionally. You support them every step of the way. You got to applaud the bravery and honesty when it actually comes out of your own house." That's a whole lot better than what our parents would have done, which probably would have included military school.

The good news? As of this writing, Chet has been on the straight-and-narrow. He's sober and following in his parents' footsteps pursuing an acting career. 

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani made a name for himself as a tough-as-nails prosecutor who famously targeted the Mob's money in an attempt to take down the five major Mafia families who controlled criminal activity in the city. His reputation for law and order ushered him into the mayor's seat, where his controversial and hard-line "broken windows" approach to policing did result in lower crime rates across the city. With that framework in mind, imagine how he felt when his 20-year-old daughter, Caroline, was arrested for shoplifting about $100 worth of cosmetics from Sephora. 

For her crime, Caroline received the penalty of one day of community service. According to the New York Daily News, she allegedly had to "mop floors and clean toilets at the Sanitation Department's Manhattan District 3 garage at Pier 36 on the Hudson River." Rudy, who is rarely at a loss for words no matter what the subject, declined to comment on his daughter's offense, which is perhaps the loudest statement of embarrassment he could have made.

Pop quiz, hotshot: What should you never do if your dad is an action movie superstar and also "an anti-drug ambassador and deputy to the top advisory board to China's legislature?" If you answered, "Not get busted with weed in your apartment," you're clearly not Jaycee Chan, son of Jackie Chan, who apparently missed that memo.

According to the South China Morning Post, Jaycee served six months of a possible three-year sentence for "sheltering others to use drugs." His sentence was reduced after he cooperated with authorities following a raid on his apartment that resulted in the seizure of "100 grams of marijuana." Upon his release, Jaycee publicly apologized, saying that his actions "brought a negative impact on society."

Jackie apparently concurred, writing in "a letter to the public" (via TMZ) that he was "enraged" over the incident. "As a public figure, I feel very ashamed; as his dad, I'm very sad and disappointed. But the person who feels heartbroken the most is his mom. ... Jaycee: you've done something wrong and you have to be responsible for the consequences." 

Fortunately, Jackie is a martial arts master with a soft parental core because he also wrote, "I'm your dad and I'll always be with you. We will face the road ahead of us together." Aww! Roundhoused you right in the feels there, huh?

David Hasselhoff caused the first huge embarrassment for his family in 2007 when a video of him shirtless and drunkenly eating a burger on the bathroom floor was leaked online. Reflecting on the viral gaffe years later, his daughter, Hayley Hasselhoff (above right), told the Mirror that they never found out who released that footage. "Unfortunately because our life is so public it was put out there. It was never supposed to be shown to anyone but our family."

Hayley made her own headlines in 2017 when she climbed behind the wheel of her Mercedes-Benz and subsequently fell asleep while driving on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, police found her "passed out in the driver's seat with her foot on the brake." After failing a sobriety test, she was arrested for DUI. As for any statement from the Hasselhoff's regarding Hayley's 2017 charge? Crickets.

Marlon Brando's wild child and eldest of nine known children, Christian Brando, easily takes the cake in the disgrace department. On May 16, 1990, Christian shot and killed his sister Cheyenne's boyfriend, Dag Drollet, in Marlon's Hollywood Hills mansion. Christian was allegedly defending his sister, who reportedly called him for help, claiming Drollet hit her. The details are murky, but a struggle supposedly ensued and Christian allegedly accidentally shot Drollet. However, according to the Daily Mail, Drollet "was shot in the back of the head, while holding a packet of cigarettes and a TV remote." That's an unusual fighting stance, huh?

Marlon pulled out all the stops for Christian's defense. According to Entertainment Weekly, Marlon "hired private investigators, ballistics and pathology experts, and at least nine lawyers." Marlon even took the stand in a dramatic "hour-long plea for mercy," (per the Daily Mail) blaming himself for his son's actions because he "failed him as a father." This "hail Mary" attempt to save Christian yielded a guilty plea to a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter, for which Christian served only ten years in prison. 

The whole spectacle dragged Marlon — already disgraced from Hollywood and self-exiled to his Polynesian island — back into a spotlight from which he'd willfully retreated. It's one thing to have to play Superman's dad just for the paycheck, a role Marlon famously loathed, but it's another thing entirely to tell the world that your personal screw-ups are possibly the reason your kid killed someone.

Christian Brando died in January 2008 at age 49.
