Baby, lock the door and turn the lights down low. t's almost time for the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards!
That's right, America's oldest country music award show returns on May 11, boasting a star-studded roster, including the unexpected country superstar hosting duo, Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks. The country music chart-topping talent of today will be duking it out in categories like Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Female/Male Artist of the Year. The genderless Entertainer of the Year will certainly prove to be stiff competition, as Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, and Morgan Wallen vie for the honor.
This year, the ACM Awards will be held in Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the same place as the Dallas Cowboys' headquarters. Since most of us won't be able to attend the country music celebration in person, here's how to watch from the comfort of your home.
You can only stream the 2023 ACM Awards online
Through their exclusive deal with Amazon, the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards will only be available via online streaming when it happens live in Texas on May 11. Livestreams for the awards will be exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and for free on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch. The two-hour-long ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 6 p.m. Central Standard Time, and 4 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
If you miss the live program, the entirety of the ACM Awards will be uploaded onto Amazon Prime Video, the Amazon Music App, and Amazon Freevee on May 12. The stream will be available in more 240 different countries, so chances are you don't need a VPN to watch. This will be the second year the ACM Awards have been solely streamed online after making history as the first major award show to make the switch to non-broadcasting.
Ed Sheeran, Dolly Parton, and more are slated to rock the ACM Awards
The 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards certainly has a powerhouse lineup of country musicians in store, as well as a special performance by singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. The usual pop artist will take the stage for one of his few televised performances since releasing his latest album, "Subtract." "Who said the Brits don't have a little bit of country in them?" he joked in his announcement on Twitter. "This is the first time I'll be performing on [the ACM Awards] and I am super pumped about it."
Plus, ACM Awards co-host Dolly Parton will be closing out the show by singing the lead single from her upcoming album for the first time ever! Of course, several of the artists nominated for awards will also grace the stage, including: Keith Urban, Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Cody Johnson, Ashley McBryde, Jo Dee Messina, The War and Treaty, Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman, Jelly Roll, and Cole Swindell. So, basically, a who's who of country music's current landscape!
